

Herb was born March 11, 1931 in Ellscott, Alberta on a cold wintery day.
He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, the church that his father helped build.
In 1943 the family moved to Kelowna and bought an orchard in the Ellison district. Herb married his sweetheart Edith June 10, 1955. They were blessed with two sons Mark and Brian.
Herb took over his dad's orchard and was a perfectionist which earned him several years of receiving the “Golden Apple” award. He sold the family orchard and worked for McLean & Fitzpatrict for a few years, Westbank Packers for a few years and for Glenmore irrigation as a trustee.
Herb was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved camping, fishing and hunting. Enjoyed his cabin at Oyama Lake with Edith and grand kids, great memories.
Herb leaves behind his two sons, Mark (Tracey), Brian (Val). Four grandchildren Alicia (Kenney) McCaffrey, Darlene Krause (Jered Panich), Curtis (Chelsea) Krause, Christina Krause (Kyle) and three grandchildren Charlotte and Alexis McCaffrey and Carter Krause-Panich.
Herb was predeceased by his wife Edith in 2006, and sister Anneliese Hak plus numerous brother and sister inlaws. He also leaves to morn his twin sisters Margaret Ruf and Hildegard and Adolf Meier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
A graveside service will be held at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery on June 23, 2022 at 11:30 AM
