It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Edith Davidson (née Maxwell) in November 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Born in October 1947, Joan touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, quick humour, and generosity.
Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Davidson of Kelowna, BC, who stood by her side for many wonderful years. She leaves behind her beloved son, Tim, daughter-in-law Alison, and cherished grandchildren Matthew and Megan Davidson, of Vancouver, WA.
Joan’s love for her family extended to her siblings, who will deeply miss her presence: Bob Maxwell (Montreal, QC), Paul and Barry Maxwell (both in Saint John, NB); twin Joyce Lunn (Fredericton, NB), Judith Wright and Donna Brillant (both in Saint John, NB).
Joan’s warm smile, steady support, and kind-hearted spirit made her an asset to her community. Her legacy includes devoted volunteer work with hospice care, the Knights of Columbus, and numerous local committees during her time in Saint John, NB, Sussex, NB, and Kelowna, BC.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date in Sussex, NB, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to BC Cancer (Kelowna) in Joan’s memory.
