Anne was born in the Netherlands where she completed her nurses training and and worked in the TB hospital. She then immigrated to Canada in in the early 1950’s and married our dad, Peter Heyming who had immigrated prior to her arrival.
They moved from St. Catherine’s , Ontario to Revelstoke B.C. in 1954 where they started their family. A year later they relocated to Kelowna, where they continued to reside until their passing.
Anne was a stay at home mom until her children were grown at which time she started a part time job in a dress shop owned by her dear friend Martha Person.
Anne was also very passionate about volunteering. Anne was a member of the Cottonwoods auxiliary and the KGH auxiliary for many years
Anne spent more than 20 years donating her time as a volunteer for Interior Health and loved every minute that she was able to give back to the community.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Peter on March 1, 2019 and her mother, father and brother many years ago.
Anne is survived by her son Harold (Ev) Heyming, and her daughters Shirley (Perry) Stratichuk, and Sue (Frazer) Reid. She is also survived by her grandchildren Daryl (Kim), Kristen (Dan), Jeremy (Lee), Justin (Jayca).
Anne is also survived by her great grandchildren, Mckaid, Gracie and Jake, Riley and Kali.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff at Three Links Manor for their wonderful care and kindness during this difficult time.
In celebration of Anne’s life, a funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church 3645 Benvoulin Road. Kelowna B.C. on Friday October 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made on Anne’s behalf to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.
