Lawrence Smeltzer West

1920 ~ 2016

Lawrence West passed away peacefully on June 2, 2016,in Kelowna, BC at the age of 95.

Cherished husband (76 years) of Shirley West (Willis). Dear father to Wanda West of Sillery, Quebec and Terry West (Mark Defend) of London, Ontario; survived by a sister, Anna Mae Conn and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lay and Mae West (Smeltzer).

Lawrence was born on his parent’s farm in 1920, and was a well-respected farmer and horseman. Lawrence and Shirley farmed near Bengough until 1974, and retired to Kelowna where they have lived for more than 40 years. The family extends its gratitude to the staff of the Village at Mill Creek in Kelowna, for the fine and compassionate care they provided.

Interment to follow at a later date in Bengough Cemetery, with arrangements by Ross Funeral Service (Assiniboia).
