Margaret Rose Moran

The rest of us, her family - son Gerry (Linda), daughter Terri (Eamon), six grandchildren (Chris, Tina, Jason, Erin, Kara, Mark), 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren will carry on the legacy of light, laughter and love this spunky little lady gave us.

Marg spent her early years on the family farm in Ochre River, MB and in later years talked often about “her” baby colts. But she wanted to spread her wings further than the farm so she joined the Army and soon met a cute Airforce guy who loved to dance! Of course she married him!

Then came the exciting years of packing the family up and moving to many parts of Canada, then to France and Germany. Life for Marg was busy with kids, travel, learning new things and making new friends. When they retired to Kelowna the fun didn't stop there. They continued to travel Canada and abroad, and when they weren't travelling they were golfing, fishing, painting, volunteering and, visiting and hosting their growing family. Her recurring bit of advice in later years was…”travel while you can!”.

Both Marg & Frank, being veterans of WWII, were long-standing and loyal members of the Royal Canadian Legion in Kelowna and participated regularly in Legion activities. They especially enjoyed the weekly dances; their skill and energy on the dance floor were a pleasure to watch.

Marg lived her life to the fullest and did not leave any rock unturned. (Literally...she loved collecting rocks). She had so many happy memories but she also left her family with wonderful memories of being, and doing things, with her. She was friendly, feisty, energetic and loving to the end. She will be missed.

A memorial service will held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna at 11:00 on 27 March, 2023 followed by the inurnment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Should you choose, donations can be made to the Canadian Alzheimer Society, or any horse rescue organization as she never forgot her childhood horse 'Dolly'.
