Marie Whayman

Mom passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Predeceased by her husband Ken (2004) and infant son, Gerrard (1957); mother of Catherine (Blaine) Krist and Gregory (Gail) Whayman; grandchildren, Cory (Lacey) Krist, Nicole Whayman, Amber (Bill) Fountain and David (Shelby) Whayman; 7 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Sharon Whayman; predeceased by sisters, Catherine (Bill) Brady, Muriel (Herb) Rushton and Margaret (Jim) McMahon, brothers, William (Mary) Boutilier and Cecil (Rita) Boutilier.

Marie was a graduate of the Conservatory of Music, University of Western Ontario. She taught music for fifty years and volunteered at St. Mary's Church as an organist and choir director for many years. Mom loved her time volunteering with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Brantford, Ontario. She moved to Kelowna in 2019 to be cared for by her daughter and family.

Her family are so grateful to the staff and residents of Northwood Retirement Home and Mission Villas for their love, support and Kindness shown to Mom.

A Funeral Mass will be held this summer on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 AT 11:00 AM from St Mary’s Parish – Our Lady of the Assumption 133 Murray Street , Brantford, Ontario. Inurnment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
