Marilyn was born in Calgary, Alberta on September 22, 1937 to David and Lillian Luft. She grew up in Calgary and Banff, where she loved to figure skate and play the piano as a young girl. In Calgary, she met her loving husband of 68 years, Samuel Kaiser. With him, she raised her two daughters, Leslie and Terry, sang in the church choir, travelled across Canada, and enjoyed countless hands of cards, often with a playful but competitive edge.
Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother who poured her heart into her family. She is reunited in peace with her beloved daughter, Terry (February 26, 2025). She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Sam; her daughter, Leslie (John); her son-in-law, Jeroen; her five grandchildren, Carolyn, Paul (Adriana), Nicole (David), Peter and Robert; and her two great grandchildren, Ana and John.
Marilyn loved to laugh and to be around others. She could entertain a room with her upbeat personality, her laughter, and her endless supply of witty phrases. She shared her talent and creativity with her friends and family through her paper tole artwork and beautiful handmade cards. She loved to bake and was always ready for a cup of tea.
She is now with her Lord and Savior, whom she loved and served with her whole heart. Although we are sad to see her go, we know that she is at peace and full of joy in his loving arms.
