Mike passed away suddenly while on vacation in Las Vegas with his beloved wife, Maggie. A native of Surrey, Mike was a long serving member of the B.C. Government and Service Employees Union, the past three years as staff representative for the Cariboo region, located in Williams Lake. He was recognized by both employers and employees for his honest and balanced approach to union issues. Mike loved his home, his devoted dog, Snuggles, and his many vacations on the cruise lines and in the sun of Arizona. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, parents Frank and Florence Walden of Kelowna, brothers Stephen (Agnes) of Castlegar, Peter (Dawn) of Omak, Washington, sister Dianne (Will) McCauley of Kelowna, many nephews and nieces and a large extended family. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, followed by cremation.
