Mildred Emily Bradford

Millie passed away at the age of 93. She is survived by her children Jennie (Rob) Corbett of Kelowna, Deb (Kim) Ward of Penticton and Doug (Sue) of Milk River, AB and grandchildren Simon (Kecia) Ward, Chris (Holly Read) Corbett , Stephanie (Chris) Sunquist, Perry (Crystal) Ward, Emily (Scott) Sedgman, Ed (Samantha) Bradford, Amanda (Jeff) Anderson, Jessica Bradford, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She had many nieces and nephews who thought the world of her.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Ray in 1987, and her grandchildren, Dan Bradford in 2020 and Christine Bradford in 1982.

Millie was born in Armstrong, the youngest child of Harry and Annie (Gunson) Lane. She had 5 siblings - Walter Lane, Margaret (Jock) Anderson, George (Jean) Lane, Art (Fran) Lane, Ed (Marj) Lane. Her parents and siblings are all on the other side, ready to welcome Millie.

She attended school in Armstong and worked as a telephone operator from the age of 16. When the office moved to Kelowna, so did Millie. Ray, a friend of her brother, also came to Kelowna and they married in 1950 in Armstrong and lived in Kelowna. She worked at Okanagan Telephone until 1953 when their daughters were born. 3 ½ years later their son was born. She returned to OK Tel/BC Tel/Telus about 1965 until she retired.

In their retirement, Ray and Millie loved to camp, fish and take long walks and hikes. They always had a group of close friends who seemed like family. They were always close to their siblings as well.

After Ray passed away, Millie traveled extensively with friends old and new. She enjoyed her many experiences around the world with her fellow travelers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday November 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna. Viewing will be Thursday Novermber 3, 2022 at 3:30 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services.
