MIRTLE MCKENZIE (OWCHAR) June 18, 1923 -- November 1, 2020 I was born in Radway, Alberta then moved to Hylo, Alberta and married Mike Owchar. Mike passed away and we leave one son, Jules and two daughters, Jane and Susan and two grandchildren, Hannah and Nash. We lost one son Bobbie. Shared ten years of my life with Fred Karran and leave many step grandchildren and their parents. Boe McKenzie and I met at the Singles Dance and soon married. We were married for 25 years until Boe passed away on April 14, 2001. I also leave many step grandchildren and their parents. I had been at the Elks Hall Flea Market for 30 years. Made many wonderful friends and enjoyed every Sunday. Saying bye to them all. At my request, no funeral service will be held. My cremated remains will be laid to rest in the grave with my Baby Bobbie in Edmonton. Say a prayer and play "Walk Across Texas With You" Mom was independent in her own home until age 90 then resided at Spring Valley Care Centre until her passing at age 97. It is with deep gratitude, we thank the Doctors, Nurses and Caregivers for their kindness and compassionate care of our Mom. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.valleyviewfuneralhome.com for the McKenzie family.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Mirtle’s families. Mirtle & my Mom, Augustina, were life long friends that spoke on a regular basis. I have fond memories of visits with Mirtle at Lena’s. May your memories give you comfort now & in the days to come.
