It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an amazing man, Morgan Forshner.
Morgan was born on April 27th, 1983 and after an incredibly heroic battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital on December 16th, 2016.
Morgan is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife, soul mate and love of his life, Jenny, two Sons Tyler(11) and Lincoln(6mo), Mom and best friend Karen, Step-Dad Paul, Dad Allan and Step-Mom Bev, Brothers Cam, Shea (Kayla) , Cody (Krista) and Sister Chelsea.
Morgan has two nieces, Aleighna and Bryelle and a nephew, Zed.
There were so many people that were like family to Morgan because family was everything to him. He had an infectious laugh that drew people in… and then he wowed them will his many factual tid bits of random information.
Morgan was born in Edmonton and raised in Kelowna. He graduated with Honors from Rutland Senior Secondary in 2001. He was ever the bookworm and was so great at school. He carried those same strong skills into his adult life and took on a schooling for a career in water treatment in 2013. In 2014, Morgan graduated from Okanagan College, on the Dean’s List, with a diploma as a Waste Water Technician.
Morgan ventured in many different jobs over the years including Front End Supervisor for Value Village, Lead Hand of Home Shipping at SRI Homes, and most recently as an Irrigation Specialist for Ken’s Horticultural Services in Lake Country.
One of the happiest times of Morgan’s life was when he and Jenny became parents to their first son, Tyler in 2005. Morgan and Jenny then were married in an awesome Halloween wedding in 2009. After numerous years of trying for a second child, this past June, their second son, Lincoln was born. This Daddy was so very proud to have two sons. Their little family was complete.
Morgan was really all about being with his family and spending quality time together. Whether it was dominating every single board game he ever touched, gaming with his oldest son and many friends or vegging out at the family cabin, Morgan was a homebody and appreciated that time so very much.
We will be having a Celebration of Morgan’s life on Wednesday December 28th at 2pm at Valleyview Funeral Home, 165 Valleyview Road in Rutland and will have an open house at the Forshner Residence directly following the service. (1240 Gaggin Road)
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made to Tyler and Lincolns Education fund. Please email [email protected] for more information on how to contribute.
A very sincere thank you to Dr. Clarke and all the staff at the BC Cancer Clinic for all their care and support of Morgan and the family.
Rest Easy now, Morgan. We know that Baba was waiting for you with open arms and we will take comfort in knowing you are together with her, until we can all be together again.
