

Born on March 23, 1930, in Rainy River, Ontario, Rita was a spirited entrepreneur whose work took her and her family across Canada from Ontario to British Columbia stopping in each province buying, rebuilding and turning over small businesses. She was also an accomplished poker player, recognized in Canadian Poker Player Magazine in 2004 for notable tournament finishes in Regina and Edmonton.
Rita loved to travel and completed more than eleven cruises around the world, always drawn to the ocean and new adventures.
She is survived by her children Ella May, Dan, and George, along with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in summer 2026 (date to be announced).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of her favourite charities: Kelowna Gospel Mission, The War Amps, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
