Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years Joyce; sons Rob (Elaine), Jim (Kathy), and daughter Leslie Munro; grandchildren Matt (Chelsea), Carly (Greg), Amber (Aaron), Jamie, Garrett, Travis, and Kelsey; great grandchildren Lindyn and Ayla; brother George (Doris); sisters Frances Down, Betty Gaal, Linda (Gene) Chartier, Mary Lockyer, and Marlene (Bob) Cox; son-in-law Ken Munro; and many, many nieces and nephews. He was sadly predeceased by his sister Anna Clare Vankosky, brothers-in-law Ernie Vankosky, Ben Down and Jim Lockyer.
Bob spent all of his working life in the bush of BC’s northern interior – retiring after 34 years with the forestry department at Dunkley Lumber. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby for many years after his retirement, as well as fixing anything and everything, especially for his grandchildren. He loved his family very much and time spent with his grandchildren was precious. One of his favourite pastimes was watching the news. He was a great story-teller, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services Lakewood Chapel, 1055 Ospika Blvd., Prince George, BC V2M 3R7 (phone: 250-562-5915) at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013.
