It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Ronald George Casavant on October 3, 2019. Ron was born November 20, 1949 to George and Thelma Casavant (predeceased) in New Westminster, BC Ron was a devoted husband, father, “Papa”, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves to mourn his wife of 44 years Janis, daughter Lauren (Blair),son Kurt, granddaughters Kinsley, Delta and Ayven who were his pride and joy. Also sister Dede (Frank), brother Gerry and sister Maureen (Dan) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was raised in the carefree days of the 50’s and 60’s and then started his career as a draftsman with BC Tel in 1969 and went on to get his engineering certificate and retired with them after 34 dedicated years. He met the love of his life in 1974 and quickly wed in 1975 and went on to have two children. He was a passionate sports historian who loved watching and playing equally. He spent many years coaching his children in their various endeavours. He loved travelling to Mexico and Arizona, as a sun worshiper he always had the greatest tan. Ron loved the sun on his face. His bright personality was also expressed in his art, filling our home with many treasured landscapes. He was never afraid to strike up a conversation with a passerby. Ron was genuinely interested in everyone’s story, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His smile and laugh will be greatly missed, the world was a better place with him in it. We will cherish his memory forever. A celebration of life will be held Nov 1 2019 from 10-12 at the Ellison community hall 4411 Old Vernon Rd. “To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die”

This is so sad with the passing of Ron who was so full of life. Our sincere condolences go out to Janis and his entire family. We had the honor of meeting Ron at our winter playground at Sun City Grand and had the pleasure of discovering what a wonderful human being he truly was. We golfed together, played pickleball together, played bocce together and socialized together. We have lost one of the best...he will be dearly missed.
