Stan, the eldest of 2 sons, was born on June 6, 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was there he grew up, then met & married the love of his life, Joan Victoria Kaminski, on May 7, 1960. They were blessed with three children: Karen, Darryl and Cynthia.
Always working hard to provide for his family, Stan took his many gifts and skills in framing, plastering, plumbing & carpentry and built his first family home in Winnipeg & then Kelowna. Later, he would start his own company, Versatile Renovating, offering these services and more in Winnipeg. For the next chapter, he and Joan decided to move back to Kelowna where he transferred his Renovation business, until easing into retirement with more golfing, 5 pin bowling, cards, gardening, puzzle-making, painting and spectating football & hockey. Stan also enjoyed travel with his wife to Australia, Hawaii, several US states, and in later years, North American theatre bus tours.
Stan was predeceased by his wife Joan and survived by his children Karen (Scott), Darryl (Estelle), Cynthia (Jason), and grandchildren Brenden, Kolby and Liam. He is also predeceased by his parents Olga and Stanely Sr., and brother Joseph. Along with his mother-in-law Minnie and niece Marina (Doug), he leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many people who offered companionship and comfort to Stan as he continued to grieve the loss of his loving wife of 61 years. Special thanks to Dr. Chien and the staff of Lakeview Lodge, Horizon Eldercare and Missionwood Retirement Resort.
