She is survived by sons Dan (Darl) and Mark (Julie), daughter Cathy (Glenn) and daughter-in-law Brenda, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and sisters Wanda and Doreen. She was predeceased by husband Jack, sons Steve, David and Bernard and granddaughter Tracey.
Veronica was born on December 20, 1933 in North Vancouver. She met Jack as a teenager and they married in 1952, starting their family soon after. They moved to Kelowna in 1960 and to Rutland in 1967. Most of their weekends were spent camping with family and friends. After retirement, they did many road trips near and far, as well as enjoying several cruises. She enjoyed vacations to Hawaii and Disneyland with family and also loved spending time at the Shuswap cabin. She was a big Rockets fan and attended many games with her granddaughter, then later she was proud to watch her great grandson play hockey on TV. She looked forward to her monthly trips to the casino and going to Bingo with her grandkids. Her last year and a half was spent at Sun Pointe Village where she enjoyed meeting new people, playing crib, scrabble and a variety of other activities that they offered.
Veronica enjoyed life to the fullest and was extremely proud of her huge family. One of the highlights of her last year was taking part in her two oldest great grandson’s weddings.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
At Veronica’s request there will be no formal service but a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada.
