Arlene Kaye Clark was born August 19, 1944 in Geneva, Nebraska to parents Byron Kermit and Elenor (Schilberg) Michael and entered eternal rest on June 8, 2018 at the age of 73. Kaye attended Alexandria High School in Nebraska but graduated from Mesquite High in Texas in 1963. She then became a self-employed accountant for over 40 years.
Kaye was a mom first and foremost. She raised her three girls without help from anyone. She never asked for help and did it her way. Kaye was a mother to her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a strong, independent woman and the rock that will continue to hold the family together by example and the fact she was always there to pick her kids up when they fell. Kaye was a very thoughtful and selfless lady, who was generous and always putting everyone before herself. She had a big heart and gave everything she could taking care of her family and several very dear friends that she stayed in contact with and checked on regularly. She loved her coffee, tending to her flowers, and shopping at her favorite store called Tuesday Morning. She also loved celebrating everybody's birthday and made a big deal out of “your special day”, no matter your age. It did not matter if you were family or friends, you would hear from Nana on your birthday and she would always sing out the first chorus of “Happy Birthday to you!” in her most happy singing voice.
Kaye was a caring, giving lady that will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her. Kaye’s last words of advice would most likely be: “It's time for everyone to put their big girl panties on and make Nana proud!”
Kaye is preceded in death by her parents, brother Leland Baruth and sister Burdene Veleta Michael.
She is survived by daughters; Kandi Johnson and spouse Tyson of Mabank, Sherry Barnhart of Tool and Cookie Clark of Tool, grandkids; Chris, Dakota, Jaci, Tyler, Kourtney, Alyssa and Skyler, great-grandkids; Chance, Chase and Oden, brother Arden Kermit Michael, sister Verona (Angel) Humphries, many more family, friends and loved ones.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kaye Clark will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Mabank, TX on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2:00pm.
