Jana hand delivered a graduation invitation to me while I was working the produce in the Plano Tom Thumb. We met and visited on several occasions, but the fact that she was willing to let me be her friend left me speechless. I was absolutely smitten with who she was and would come to be.

I went in the Army with the intention of looking her up as soon as possible. I shared coffee with Dot at the sac-a-burger and spoke of Jana and the loss of her husband. It was clear that I should never settle for anything less than how I felt around her. Jana is a part of my education, 26 year Army career and 30 year marriage simply because I never wanted to be less than the person she thought I was; if only for a moment. That intangible part of her I carried in my heart has seen the magnificent ruins of forgotten cultures, many oceans, has flown above many foreign skies, the triumphs on the battlefield and the ache of losing comrades, and the return to loving arms. I regret not having had the opportunity to tell her, and hope her family will accept that I will never be able to fully share the positive impact Jana had on my life - Kenneth

I was heart-broken today when i saw this. Jana and I grew up together in school. I remember sitting in classes with her, seeing her in drill-team and at the country club swimming pool in the summers. Such a beautiful and kindred spirited person. I will always remember those days. Dennis Fillmore

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm pretty sure I took dance at the same place she did in Kaufman. I remember we did Alice in Wonderland and she was Alice. I was younger than her and I believe I was a butterfly. She was a beautiful dancer and remember thinking one day I could be as good as her.
