Mr. Jim Fryar
November 2, 1928 – October 1, 2019
James Dona Fryar was born November 2, 1928 in Palestine, Texas to parents James Dunkin Fryar and Dona Louise (Miles) Fryar and entered eternal rest on October 1, 2019 at the age of 90. Jim graduated from Palestine High School, attended college at Henderson County College and served our country in the United States Air Force. He retired in 1990 from Verizon where he was a Regional Manager and married his wife LaVonne in 2003 in Garland. Jim was a smart, hardworking man with an engineering mind who collected guns and reloaded his own ammo. He had a great love for his two 1970 Ford Mavericks and his favorite dog Donia. He was an amazing man who will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James Dunkin Fryar and Dona Louise (Miles) Fryar; and two brothers, Thomas Wilbur Fryar and Bobby Gene Fryer. He is survived by his wife LaVonne of Mabank; step-daughters Jennifer White and fiancé Ferris Watson of Kemp, Samantha Fowler and spouse Rod Fowler of Weatherford, Texas, step-son Paul Perez and spouse Kristie Perez of Dallas, step-daughter Miriam Dexter and spouse Todd Dexter of Eustace; sister Shirley Frances Bolt of Lufkin, other loving family members and many more friends.
