

John Dezilyski Groves was born on February 3, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to parents George R. and Claire (Steinberg) Groves and entered into rest on November 4, 2016 at the age of 89. John served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW & American Legion. John worked continuously as brick monson for 50 years and was a member of the Brick Layers Union. He volunteered with SW Telephone Pioneers. John was part of the Mabank Auxiliary Police and delivered Meals on Wheels. He loved watching old war movies and doing woodwork. John was a great man; who will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wives; Vickie, Mozelle and Shirley, daughter Natalie Munson, step-son Russell Des Jardins, brother’s; George, Dick, Kenneth, Louis and James.
He is survived by his children; John Johnson and wife Tammy of Brimington, WA, Jacquline Sena of Brimington, WA, Beverly Tiller and husband Charles of Mesquite, Cyndi Gerard and husband Gene of Garland, Timothy Groves and wife Sharon of Mesquite, Tammy Templeton and husband Jim of Mesquite, Toni Boeker and husband Bill of Ft. Worth, Makayla Porter and husband Darren of Mesquite, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other loving family members and many more friends.
