Mary was born on July 3, 1935 in Styx to parents Walter W. and Mary Bell (Workman) Hutcheson and entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2014 at the age of 79. Mary attended Kemp schools and had her first job at Miller Pharmacy where she worked at the Soda Shop. She later became an interior decorator and custom drape designer. Mary designed the custom drapes through E-Systems for Air Force One, when President Reagan was in office. She kept an immaculate home and garden. Mary had style and grace, from the way she wore her hair and makeup, to how she dressed in the latest style. She was a faithful Christian, and attended Eastgate Church of Christ and was a former member of Kemp Church of Christ, where she taught Bible class. Mary was an extraordinary caregiver; she considered it a hobby and an honor, not a chore. She took care of Mr. Schmanski for many years. Mary would go to the McDouglald house every evening, after Paul’s accident and helped Charlotte take care of him. She was known for raising children throughout the community and helping neighbors in any way she could. Mary would save cans for the people in her neighborhood and helped throughout the community assisting those who needed to sign up for assistance with Meals on Wheels. In one way or another many lives were touched by Mary McFaul. The community of Kemp has lost a true humanitarian. Mary was named Business Woman of The Year in Waxahachie and she served as an interim member on the Kemp City Council. She was a very loving, caring and beautiful lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Scottie Sabrina McFaul and brother Thomas Hutcheson.
She is survived by her son Jon McFaul and wife Carrie of Campbell, sister Betty Atherton and husband Frank of Kemp, sister-in-law Norma Hutcheson, nieces; Cindy Svoboda and husband Johnny of Kemp and June Gilbert and husband Jerry, grandson Blayne, great-nephews; Bryan Svoboda and wife Charree’, Matthew Gilbert, Jacob Gilbert and Tyler Gilbert, aunt Ruth McDougald, special friend Carolyn Tutor, very best friend Charlotte McDougald, other loving family and many more friends.
