

Mavis Brewer, of Lindale, was born on February 15, 1929 in Henderson County, TX to parents Lonzo and Opal (Nichols) Adair and entered into rest on September 16, 2014 at the age of 85. Mavis was known best as “Granny” by those who knew and loved her. She graduated from LaPoynor High School and worked for over 40 years as a seamstress. Mavis loved taking care of her family, as well as others, and feeding everyone. She was an avid reader, especially of the Bible, enjoyed playing games and working puzzles. Mavis loved gardening, observing nature and sewing. She was a Baptist by faith and was a member at Lawrence Gillespie Memorial Baptist Church, where she taught young children in Sunday school. Mavis was a loving and caring lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willie Aubrey Brewer, brother Billy Adair, sisters; ChloeDean Graves and Ann.
She is survived by her son Aubrey Brewer and wife Donnell of Kemp, daughters; Laquita Roberts of Palestine, Susie Castellano and husband Dan of Lindale, Nancy Moody and husband Royce of Euless, brothers; Dale Adair and wife Mary of Opelika, Terry Adair and wife Judy from Opelika, sisters; Maynon Miller of Brownsboro, Edna Cox of New York, TX, Adela Giles and husband William of Edom, Brenda Pool and husband Melvin of New York, TX, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, other loving family members and many more friends.
