Norma Jean (Gallardo) Kidwell was born on February 13, 1942 in San Antonio, TX to parents Julian C. and Margie (Balderes) Gallardo and entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2015 at the age of 73. Known as “Granny” by most who knew her, Norma, a breast cancer survivor of twelve years, was a very compassionate person with a genuine humanitarian spirit who held her family very close to her heart. After graduation from Burbank High School in San Antonio, Norma worked for Tandy Leather Company where she was a model and photographer for their catalog. She then went into sales, first with Home Interiors and later Olan Mills Photography, working in the church directory division. She enjoyed crafts, shopping, vacationing with family, her grandchildren, and being a member of the Red Hat Society. Granny was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she went on many mission trips. In all of these endeavors, “Granny” made sure she was dressed to the nines with all accessories matching. Even on the trips where they were limited to one bag, nobody said anything when”Granny” came in with a duffle bag as big as she was. She was a loving, caring, giving, grandmother to all, who will be missed by all who knew her.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Joe Huguet, and Nick Libertiny, sisters: Ida Velasquez, and Marie Bujanos.
