Patricia Ann King was born May 28, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to parents William and Faye (White) Huckaby and went to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2021 at the age of 78. To her family and friends Patricia was known as Mom, Mamma, Aunt Trish, Trish or jokingly Sue. She was a dedicated, caring, loving, hardworking woman of God. She was the most selfless person you could ever know, always thinking of others before herself. She was a truly gifted pianist, a rare talent that only a few achieved. Patricia loved playing and teaching piano, cooking for her family (especially desserts), vacationing in Branson, playing board games with her children and grandchildren and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family always came first, with no exceptions. Every grandchild got to spend the night at Mamma’s house anytime they asked. Christmas was her most loved holiday, she enjoyed buying gifts for her family and cooking their favorite foods.
Patricia graduated from W. W. Samuel High School in 1960 and married the love of her life Charles King in September of 1962. She was employed by Southern Union Gas Co as a secretary, Malakoff ISD as a music teacher from 1976-2000 and Kaufman Christian School as a music teacher from 2000 to current, recognized as Teacher of the Year 2014-2015. She also touched the lives and inspired hundreds of students through private piano lessons for over 40 years. Patricia started playing piano in church when she was a young teenager and served alongside her husband in music ministry for almost 50 years at Bethany Baptist Church in Dallas, Providence Baptist Church in Tool, Legendary Baptist in Gun Barrel City and First Baptist Church of Kemp for the last 13 years. Patricia was a Baptist by faith and currently a member of First Baptist Church Kemp. She was an extraordinary woman and will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
