Mrs. Alyce Altenburg

Wife of the late Ronald P. Altenburg, was born July 5, 1937 in Dobbs Ferry, New York and moved to Buffalo at a

young age. She attended Holy Angels Academy and graduated in 1954 and was a longtime resident of Williamsville

and Clarence, NY. Ronald and Alyce were married in 1957 till he preceded her in death October 2010. While

married, they had three children, Ellen M. Altenburg, M.D. of Melbourne FL, Jane (Altenburg) Weiland of Freeport

ME and the late Michael H Altenburg. Alyce is survived by her sister Doris (Hart) Chimera of Galveston Bay, TX

and her six grandchildren Gerard Altenburg, Darrow Mead, Sean Altenburg, Tommy Altenburg, Matthew

Mead and Alexis Altenburg. Alyce put up a long, well fought battle with Dementia that she lost on September

21, 2016 at Bay Square of Yarmouth ME where she was living close to her daughter and her daughters family.

There will be a private internment at her final resting place with her husband and son at Mount Calvary Cemetery. We need

to thank all those who helped care for Alyce during her illness with great kindness and concern especially Home

Instead Senior Care, Brookdale of Jacksonville FL, and Bay Square of Yarmouth ME and her grandchildren

Darrow and Matthew and her son-in-law Robert Weiland who treated her with love, respect and dignity til the

end. Alyce was 79 years young when she passed and never stopped making us laugh.
