Charles “Chuck” George Quill, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, died on October 7, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was 79.
Born in Buffalo, New York, Chuck was the youngest of three children. He and his sisters, Sharon and Patricia, were raised by their mother, Dorothy, after the passing of their father, Charles, when Chuck was nine.
Chuck served proudly in the United States Army and was awarded a Purple Heart for his courage and sacrifice during the Vietnam War.
A lifelong lover of the water, Chuck had a passion for powerboats. He built boats as a boy, owned and repaired them as an adult, and skied slalom well into his seventies. He passed on his love for boating and the water to his family and friends.
Chuck owned and operated LaSalle American Marine in Niagara Falls, New York, during the 1980s, and had a successful career in sales at organizations including Landau Uniforms. Known for his work ethic, wit, and storytelling, he made friends wherever he went.
In 1996, Chuck moved to Olive Branch, Mississippi, where he lived for more than 20 years before moving to Wilmington in 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Ann Quill; his three sons Charles Jr. and wife Jennifer, Shawn and wife Karen, and Scott and wife Lindsey; and his beloved grandchildren Elliott, Georgia, Leah, Morgan, Caleb, Evan, and Marlowe. He is also survived by his sister Patricia and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home 3070 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, New York, on Sunday, October 12 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark RC Church, 401 Woodward Ave., Buffalo, New York, on Monday, October 13 at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kenmore, New York.
