

Passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2025. He was a resident of Tonawanda, NY.
Bill had a long career as a Law Librarian and worked at the New York State 8th Judicial District Buffalo Law Library. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoyed traveling, biking, theater performances, attending BPO and jazz concerts. He had an interest in photography and was an avid car enthusiast. He was a fan of the Sabres, Bills, Bisons, the Toronto Blue Jays, and Formula 1 Racing. Bill had an insatiable desire for reading. He was particularly drawn to books on US History and was a longtime subscriber to multiple car publications. Since their marriage at St. Louis Church, he and his wife have been active parishioners. In retirement, Bill volunteered at the Buffalo Maritime Center and at Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels.
Bill was the beloved husband for 36 years to Dorothy Pamela (nee McGowan); brother of Christy Jean (Bill Aston) and the late E. Alan (Kimberly) Nordstrom Jr.; son of the late Jean and late E. Alan Nordstrom Sr.; brother-in-law of Thomas J. McGowan, Patricia A. Lipere, Margaret M. (Kevin) Hurley, Paula M. (Robert) Gedeon and Michael F. McGowan; son in law of the late Dorothy A. and late State Supreme Court Justice, the Honorable Thomas F. McGowan; uncle of Matthew J. (Kristin) Hurley, Megan E. Hurley, Ryan M. (fiancée Claudia Hoyser) Hurley, Michael F. Lipere and Bridget E. Gedeon; also survived by many good friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday November 20, 2025 from 4 - 7 PM at the DENGLER ROBERTS PERNA FUNERAL HOME 3070 Delaware Ave. Kenmore NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 22, 2025 at St. Louis Church at Main and Edward Streets Buffalo NY at 10 AM. Please assemble at the church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery Buffalo NY.
