Donald Koestler

Of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on May 18, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Julie Koestler (Schmitt). He is survived by two sons Thomas (Patricia) grandchildren Katie, and TJ and several great grandchildren & Paul (Carol Ann), grandchildren Emily, PJ, who will continue to honor Papa's legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. Mr. Koestler was born in Buffalo, NY to his parents Otto and Marie Koestler. He graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo then upon graduation worked in the family flower business. He later turned to retail as the managing partner for Pitt Petri in Buffalo for many years. Retiring on Hilton Head Island over 25 years ago, Don truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends – fishing from the beach, from the boat, over a game of Pinochle or watching a movie. He was an avid fisherman that loved sharing many fish stories with the family and friends. His boundless energy, easy smile, and loving devotion will be deeply missed. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of The Low Country in Donald’s name.
