

Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 1918, Mr. Smith moved to Buffalo at age 5. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for 12 years before and after serving his country. At age 22 he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served as a Technician in Company D in the 55th Q.M. Regiment. He later worked as a mechanic at Gallagher Elevator Company. He was very proud of the fact that he never missed a day of work. After his retirement in 1982, he moved to Indian Shore, Florida and later to Largo, FL. He was a Third Degree member of Msgr. Nash Knights of Columbus #3875.
He is the beloved husband of 59 years of Mary Ann (nee Granville); dearest father of Kathleen (Charles) Cirringione, Gerald (Bette), Susan (David) Budzinski, Mary Lynn and the late Carol; adoring grandfather of Erin & Nicole Smith, Stephanie & Emily Cirringione and Connor Budzinski. Brother of Eleanor Smith, Alfred and the late Arthur and Joan Brogan; brother-in-law of Paul (Annettte) Granville, Carol (Eugene) Lafferty, Joseph (Shirley) Granville, Lorraine Granville and Patricia (Hansen) Hodosy; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will be present Friday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home, 3000 Delaware Avenue, Kenmore. A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of his life will take place at 9:00 AM at St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Tonawanda, NY 14150
