The life of James B. Kirkland of Tonawanda will be celebrated at 1 PM on Saturday, July 30 at the University of Buffalo Newman Center in Getzville.
Mr. Kirkland died February 5, 2016 at age 89. The longtime Amherst resident is survived by Mary (Zenger) Kirkland,
his beloved wife of 62 years. They had nine children: Mary Beth (Jim) O’Neill of Cleveland, Suzanne of Tonawanda,
Carol (Paul Mikolyski), who predeceased him, James A. (D’Arcy) of San Jose, CA, JoAnn (Tom Hundgen) of Shelter Island, NY, Michael (Julie
Bargnesi) of Amherst, Kevin (Abby) of Mount Lebanon, PA, Patricia (Cindy Arrowood) of Seattle and Kathleen
(Paul) Marranco of Cheektowaga. He also had two sisters Jean Darling and Mary Jayne Westbrook; three brothers
Bobby, who died at age five, Richard (Joanne), who predeceased him and John (Sue), and eight grandchildren:
Jennifer, Madeleine, Ian, Riley, Reid, Christopher, Jenna and Quinn. Mr. Kirkland graduated from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in 1950. The Newman Center is at 495 Skinnersville Rd., 14228. Take Sheridan Dr., north on
