Kathryn “Kay”(nee Waring) Passed away peacefully on August 11, 2022 at age 94 with members of her family at her side. In death she joins her late husbands, Horace V. (Tino) Bellanca and William H. Clancy and her parents, Edward J. and Marie E. (Byrne) Waring. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Edward (Mary Ellen), Joseph (Margie), Mary Margaret, Ann (Norman) Forster and Joan. She was loving, caring and awesome mother to her children, William, Katy (Bob Smith), Mark (Kathleen), John (Kay Pinto), Margaret (Carl) Darling and Peter Clancy, who she chauffeured to countless baseball, football and hockey games, swim meets, play practices and softball tournaments. She was the adored “Bama” of grandchildren Kristen (Joe) Fitch, Erin (Tom) McGrath, Kaitlyn Galante, Patrick Galante, Kathryn Darling, William Darling, Ryan Clancy, (late) Lucas Clancy and greatgrandchildren Declan Fitch, Aidan Fitch, Tyler McGrath and Alexandra McGrath. Her many nieces and nephews will also miss their beloved Aunt Kay. She is survived by her sisters Jean (late John) Seiler and Frances (late Louis) Violanti, who are left to carry on the proud “Dolly Sister” legacy. Kay enjoyed her travels though Europe, Australia and the Middle East with her husband Tino and cherished her trips to the Downtown Library and Thursdays in Lafayette Square when she made her home at 600 Main Street. Kay was an avid knitter, and the city is a warmer place thanks to her never-ending quest to give everyone she met a handmade hat and scarf. Kay charmed everyone she met, with her wicked sense of humor and easy going nature, to include her caregivers at Peregrine’s Landing of Cheektowaga, who only knew her a short time, but loved her nonetheless. Never one to turn down a bourbon on the rocks, family holidays and get togethers will not be the same without her. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 17, from 4-7 p.m. at DENGLER ROBERTS PERNA FUNERAL HOME, 3070 Delaware Ave., Kenmore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 651 Washington. St., Buffalo. Please assemble at church. Flowers gratefully declined; memorial contributions may be made in Kathryn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York or Hospice Buffalo.
