Richard was in the Military Police with the Army Reserves for 6 years with an honorable discharge. He was a lover of anything with a motor. Richard was proud to work at Harrison Radiator, a part of General Motors working his way from guard shack to supervisor.
After decades of work at General Motors, he retired and began a new career helping to raise and care for his grandchildren. Spreading his love of tinkering and fine craftsmanship to his future generations.
He was a lifetime angler. Richard loved sharing stories of his trips with his good friends Ron Campanella and John Vosburg. With a beer in his hand and a smile on his face, he passed on memories of catching snakes in the fields next to his house, using pea shooters on the neighborhood kids and his tallest tale of all – his bicycle made from sticks.
