I am so incredible sorry for your loss.  He was a wonderful, kind, and  generous person.  He will be missed by his friends I know.  It's a great gift that I was able to reconnect and develop a new friendship with him.

Ellie was the angel that brought us together.   She was my protector.   Within 5 minutes she was sitting in his lap and licking his face.  She was an awesome judge of character.   Al became family at that point.  He wasn't invited to family events - he was told when and where.  He had a standing invitation for every event.  My parents loved him like another son.  He is sorely missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Al was our neighbor for 15 years- we moved about 6 years ago. We were so lucky to have him as our neighbor. He was so wonderful to our kids. More than once, our dogs got loose and he caught them and put them in the backyard for us. He was helpful, funny, dependable and a dog lover..a gentle giant. We'll miss him.
