Born on August 8, 1932, in Cuthbert, Georgia, Alice was the daughter of Lewis and Gladys Rigdon. She spent most of her childhood in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1950. Shortly before graduating, she married Harvey Milner. Together, they shared 32 years of love and partnership until Harvey’s untimely passing in 1984.
Alice dedicated more than 35 years of her professional life to St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, where she served as Human Resources Director until her retirement on August 8, 1997. Following retirement, she remained active and deeply fulfilled through volunteer work at her church, St. Francis Hospital, Callaway Gardens, Meals on Wheels, and as a poll worker. She also enjoyed her involvement with the Red Hat Society and was well known for baking her famous cakes for church events, family, and friends. Above all else, Alice cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were truly the joy of her life.
A devoted member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Alice faithfully served in numerous ministries for many years. Even after relocating to Marietta, Georgia, in 2018 to be closer to her daughter and family, she continued to attend church services virtually, maintaining a strong and unwavering connection to her faith community.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Chris (Carl) Cramer of Acworth, Georgia; her brother, Lewis (Sarah) Rigdon of Midland, Georgia; her grandchildren, Christen (Patrick) Tucker of Marietta, Georgia, Carl (Emily) Cramer of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Savannah (Ryan) Williams of Knoxville, Tennessee; and her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Karson Cramer, Ruby Williams, and Oliver Tucker.
