Andrew "Andy" C. Scaturro

Andrew “Andy” Charles Scaturro age 81 of Acworth, GA., formerly of Ft. Myers Beach, passed away on April 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, April 27, 2013 from the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA. He graduated from Ft. Myers Senior High School, in 1949, and was a Lee County Pioneer. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Sal and Jo Scaturro. He graduated from Florida Southern College, with a B.S. degree in 1958. Andrew was a Theta Chi. He served in the U.S.Army, as a paratrooper, from 1950-53 with the 11th Airborne Division, and the 1st Special Forces Group Airborne from 1964-67. Andrew lived for many years in Tampa, FL., and then moved to Atlanta, GA. in 1970. He attended John Marshall University where he obtained a LLB. law degree. Andrew worked for many years for Life of Georgia Insurance, in their home office in Atlanta, till he retired. He was a member with the VFW, DAV and the VVA. Mr. Scaturro is survived by his sons, Jeff Scaturro, Andrew Scaturro, Michael Scaturro; daughters, Barbara Linder, Jodi Scaturro; sister, Martha Williams; and 11 grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 1pm until 2pm at the funeral home. Mr. Scaturro will be laid to rest in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Monday, April 29, 2013.
