She was the eldest followed by Hellen, Robert, and Dorothy “Dot.” At an early age her parents separated and the state took custody of Anna, Helen, and Robert and placed them in an orphanage. There Anna remained until she was aged out at 16 years old. Her experiences during that time lead her to renounce Christianity and anything to do with God. She spent the next several years lost to herself.
By the age of 20, she was ready to experience the world and moved to
Germany. She landed a job with the American Army working in the
housing division. This was an excellent job which afforded her the ability to travel all over Europe, which she enjoyed immensely.
From there she moved to El Paso, Texas and she began a very successful
business as a Direct Distributor for Amway. It was through that entrepreneurial venture she met Ollie Patterson. She was 27 years old.
They began dating and later moved to Houston, Texas. Anna’s first job in Houston was with a mid-sized accounting firm and within a few short years she rose to the position of Office Manager.
In 1981, Anna was driving to work and the Lord transported her to Heaven.
He told her she had to choose once and for all between life or death. Anna chose life! Soon after, Ollie found the Lord as well. They were married in 1982.
In 1986, Anna & Ollie adopted twin boys, Aaron & Daniel. Anna quit her full- time job at the accounting firm to be a full-time mother. In 1989 they adopted their third child, Tamrah. When Tamrah was 4 years old, she walked into Anna & Ollie’s bedroom early one morning. She said she had a
dream and Jesus healed Anna’s tummy and she had a baby. She then laid
her hands on Anna’s stomach and prayed “Dear Jesus, please heal mommy’s
tummy so she can have a baby.” Anna was pregnant 3 months later with Nathan at the age of 42.
In 1996, Anna & Ollie moved to Atlanta, GA. Anna remained home as a full-time mother and homeschooled each of her 4 children. In 2001, the children were enrolled at a private Christian school called The King’s Academy. The school had just relocated to a new building and needed help. Anna began working part time which became full time within a year. Over time, she ascended to the position of Facilities Director.
In her spare time, Anna loved spending time with her grand kids, Olivia,
Camden, and Malaya. She was also passionate about event planning and for
many years coordinated several weddings and parties for those around her.
Her hobbies included gardening and she loved going to the beach. She was
very active in the churches she attended which included Northgate Church,
Covenant of Peace, and Mission for Life Community Church in Kennesaw, GA.
