Mrs. Annette McArthur, age 75, of Acworth, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Mrs. McArthur was born on May 1, 1941 in Canton, GA, a daughter of the late Claeburn Reece and Laura Mae Smith Reece.
Mrs. Annette spent most of her career as a Secretary for Landmark of Cartersville. In her spare time there were several hobbies she enjoyed. One of her favorite hobbies was watching old movies and British Comedies; one of her favorite actresses was Marilyn Monroe. She also loved listening to music by Rod Stewart and Tom Jones. Mrs. Annette was excellent at sewing, crocheting, and embroidery, making lots of gifts for her children and grandchildren. One of her other favorite things were animals, especially dogs and humming birds. There was a radiating happiness about Mrs. Annette, always laughing and joking with anyone around. Though Mrs. Annette had many hobbies, her greatest accomplishment and deepest joy came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother. There was no doubt she was the glue that held her family together. She not only spent time loving on her family but also taught her grandchildren how to read and was a second mother to all of them; her legacy is her grandchildren she left behind. Mrs. Annette was an extraordinary woman, she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Mrs. McArthur is preceded in death by one brother, Leon Reece.
Mrs. McArthur is survived by her loving husband to whom she was married on December 28, 1957, Dan H. McArthur; four children, David McArthur, Denise McArthur, Teresa (Paul) Fugate, and Cathy (Michael) Boswell; one brother Merl Reece; sister, Wynelle Jordan; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Abby) Croy, Katlin (Zach) Hubert, Cayla Hubert, Miranda (Zach) Mathison, Chaz Fugate, Nick Routh, Nasyah McArthur, and Adah McArthur; three great-children Gage Croy, Asher Hancock, Mason Mathison; several nieces and nephews also survive.
