

The 14th of 18 children, Annabelle, as she was known, was born on March 28, 1942 in Dallas County Alabama, to Willie Sr. and Mabel Coleman.
A child of God, Annabelle believed Jesus Christ as her savior, and strived to live her life to serve and reflect His character. She touched the lives of many, as she routinely shared her faith through God’s Word in love and steadfast conviction. Annabelle was artistic, expressing her gift through creative writing, gardening, drawing and decorating. Spending time with her children was what she loved most.
Annabelle graduated from high school in 1959. In 1960, she married Paul Earl Hicks. Together, they had five children. While raising her children, she pursued a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Mott College, Flint Michigan, and worked as Registered Head Nurse for many years at Hurley Medical Center.
Annabelle leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Paul Earl of Acworth Georgia; sons, Paul (Deborah) of Jacksonville Florida; Alton of Portland Oregon; John (Sonya) of Indianapolis Indiana; Daniel of Fenton Michigan and, one daughter, Beverly (Victor) of Acworth Georgia, along with 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers (Theodore, Bill), four sisters (Alicia, Jannie, Mabel, and Elise), and her loving nephew, Johnny Coleman.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her brothers; Edward (E.W), Willie, Fred, Theodore, Emmitt, Clarence, Melvin, Erving and Calvin, and her sisters; Leola Harris, Cora Hogan, and Alley Holmes.
Annabelle will be laid to rest at The Georgia National Cemetery Georgia National Veterans Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr. Canton, GA 30114. In lieu of contributions, donations may be sent to The Dementia Society of America: www.dementiasociety.org
