Anthony Peter Fusco, age 96, of Acworth, GA., passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, PA., on July 1, 1915 to Joseph and Theresa Fusco of Naples, Italy, Anthony studied classical music and became a drummer during the Big Band Era. Recognized by his stage name Hal Frisco, he became well-known as “Gene Krupa of the South” with his own quartet in Miami, FL. His career launched becoming a band member with Charlie Barnett, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman Orchestras playing at Carnegie Hall in NYC and the Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA. During his later years, he entered the real estate profession merging with Chester Fryer Real Estate in Philadelphia. He is survived by his daughters, Toni Audrey Fusco and Judy Lee Schieber; son-in-law , Frank Joseph Schieber and grandsons, Frank Anthony and Brett James Schieber. A memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday November 5, 2011 at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Chapel.
