The third child born to Michael and Anna Semko on August 8, 1934, she was blessed after the passing of her mother to have a second mother, Susanna, and then two younger brothers. She graduated from Linden High School in 1952 and was noted for her artistic skills.
Barbara married her beloved Michael Pelosi in 1956. Shortly thereafter they located to Chatham, N.J. where they raised their three children and happily resided on Ward Place for over forty years.
Barbara’s energy and enthusiasm was like no other. She volunteered at St. Patrick’s Church, was engaged in her children’s young lives, and always had a craft project in the works. She will be remembered by many for her Raggedy Ann dolls and went on to share her sewing skills at the Chatham Fabric Shop. Later, she was employed at Hughes Fire and Security Systems, Chatham Township Police Department and Benjamin and Wizorek.
Most recently Barbara resided in Kennesaw, Ga. She was a regular at the Cobb County Senior Center and made many new friends there and in her neighborhood.
Barbara treasured her relationships with friends and family. She is lovingly remembered by two brothers, Michael Semko and Paul Semko, cousins, many nieces and nephews and especially her children, Annette Young (Robert), Cynthia Deans (Robert Reid) and Michael Pelosi (Jeanne), and her grandchildren, Alexandra Young (Bradley Dean), Christopher Pelosi, Stephen Pelosi (Diana) and Joseph Pelosi.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Michael Pelosi, sister Julia Figler and brother Rev. Edward Semko.
