Barbara Berry Proctor, know to her friends as Bobbie was born January 1, 1947, in Valdese, North Carolina—a birthday she was always very proud of—passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Marietta, GA.
Bobbie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by faith, hard work, and love for others. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Lenoir-Rhyne and went on to build a remarkable career in sales with Verizon, where she dedicated 57 years of service before retiring as an account manager. Her strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on everyone who worked with her.
For over 16 years, Bobbie was a faithful member of Northstar Church where she became a fixture in the True North Building. She was a devoted Christian who loved God deeply and maintained a close personal relationship with Him throughout her life. Her faith guided her actions and the way she cared for those around her.
Bobbie found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid sports fan who especially loved the Atlanta Braves and North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team. She enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, movies, and spending time with her family. Some of her happiest memories were trips to the beach, particularly to Myrtle Beach, a place she loved visiting—especially with her son Clay when he was young.
Those who knew Bobbie will remember her as hardworking, loving, giving and caring. Her warmth, faith, and dedication to her family will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
Bobbie is survived by her son, Clay Proctor (Michele); her grandchildren, Aaron Proctor and Haley Proctor (Cassi); her great-grandchildren, Rylan Knox Proctor and Ryleigh Joyce Proctor; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather, Laura Bernice Walsh, Howard Sylverster Berry and Ernie Bentley and her ex-husband Johnny Lewis Proctor.
Bobbie’s life was a testament to faith, love, and perseverance, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
