Barbara Nell (Wiley) Scarbrough

Barbara Nell (Wiley) Scarbrough, born on November 29, 1954, in Covington, Georgia, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 70. A resident of McDonough, Georgia, Barbara was known for never meeting a stranger. She was loving, caring, hardworking, and kind-hearted — a devoted Christian who truly loved people and faced life with remarkable resilience.

Born to her devoted parents, Herbert and Lennice Wiley, Barbara spent her early years in Covington. She worked for AllState Insurance as a claims processor for 29 years before retiring. Barbara was married to John Wesley Price, Jr., and together, while living in Acworth, they raised three wonderful children, Wes, Monna and Wayne. Later in life, she met and married Clarence Scarbrough, sharing seven joyful years together. Clarence brought with him two children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren — all of whom Barbara embraced and loved as her own.

Barbara loved Jesus and sharing her testimony, had a passion for collecting butterflies and found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and concerts. She cherished moments with her siblings and loved singing gospel music with Clarence as a duo in church, as well as singing to the residents in nursing homes. Barbara enjoyed traveling with Clarence, especially to Myrtle Beach, and delighted in crafting and making handmade Christmas ornaments. A devoted Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Brownie troop leader, and room mom for her children, she poured her heart into nurturing her children and community. She always made birthdays and holidays special and found joy in hosting Sunday family dinners that filled her home with love and laughter.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Scarbrough, Sr.; sons, John Wesley Price, III (Apryl) and Jeffrey Wayne Price (Julea); daughter, Remonna Denise Sears (Alan); stepchildren, Clarence Albert Scarbrough, Jr. and Brenda Anlue Hart; grandchildren, Hayden, Cole, Heidi Mae, and Ryder; eight step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Herb Wiley (Lyn), Ray Wiley, and Roger Wiley (Kim); sisters, Gloria Lewis, Verna Coppedge (Beau), and Rachel McDonald (Loy). She is also survived by her best friend since childhood, Elaine Gentry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Wesley Price, Jr., and her loving parents, Herbert and Lennice Wiley.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church, 4020 Hwy 81, McDonough, GA 30252. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. A committal service will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152.

Barbara’s loving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
