I am Cheyenne Stamp, the granddaughter of Barrington Stamp through his first child, Paul Anthony Stamp, who is now resting in heaven.

After so many years apart, God answered a prayer I had carried in my heart and blessed me with one last chance to see my Grandfather this past May 2026. I will forever be thankful for that precious gift. We talked, laughed, hugged, shared meals together, and I had the privilege of taking you outside in your wheelchair. Those weren’t just moments, they became memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

As I was leaving, I hugged him tightly, looked in his eyes, and said, “Grandfather, wah gwan.” He said, “U tell me.” I said, “Mi a go back Jamaica today.” He replied, “I know,” and I said, “I love you.” He replied, “I love you too,” and kissed my forehead. I never imagined those would be the last words I would ever say to each other in person. But I am glad I got to tell you while you were still alive. But I find peace in knowing that the last thing we shared was love.

Although I can’t be there today to say my final goodbye, I find comfort in knowing I got to see you one last time. That visit was a blessing I will thank God for that every day. Until we meet again,

Hello everyone 
 I am saddened to hear of the passing of Barry, my self and Kerri my wife have fond memories of Barry in Barbados at are wedding in 2005 everyone remembers him, in 2023 after 17 years we returned to the Caribbean on a cruise stopping in Barbados and reminiscing about the wedding and everyone who made the trip Barry was in are thoughts

Uncle Barry,  we will certainly miss you. You were always the life of the party especially at Thanksgiving. You shared so many memories with us about you and my Mom getting into trouble when you were children. When you no longer came to NY for the holidays, you would always call during the festivities and we would pass the phone around so you could say hello to everyone and I mean everyone. We thank God for the happy memories and pray that you will rest in eternal peace.

To my stepdad Barry Stamp: my deepest condolences for  your passing.

Growing up with you, I always remembered you being very kind and showing love to me. You always called me “Ms Lavie”.

Also, you always gave me my allowance to go the matinee at "Carib Theatre."

As a stepdad, you made me feel safe and now that I’m grown; looking back, that was very important so I thank you for that.

May the Father above have mercies on you and you rest in peace my stepdad Barry.

My name is Jacqueline Stamp, Barrington's daughter.
I will miss my dad very much. I have so many wonderful memories of him that I will always cherish.
When my dad was living in the Bronx, I would visit him with my children. If I asked him for something and he was able to provide it, he always did. I remember asking him for a radio. He sent me to his friend's radio store, told me to pick out the one I wanted, and he paid for it. That was just the kind of father he was—kind, generous, and always wanting to help.
After he moved to Georgia, I continued to visit him. We always had dinner together, but as he got older, dinner seemed to get earlier and earlier. I would say, "Dad, it's so early! Can we wait a little while?" Of course, he would say something to Lena, and Lena would tell me, "Jackie, go let the man eat and go eat with him!" I can't help but laugh every time I think about that memory.
Another tradition I will always treasure is waking up to my dad making me saltfish and bananas for breakfast every time I visited. Those simple moments meant so much because they showed his love and care for me.
Dad, thank you for your love, your generosity, and the beautiful memories you gave me. I will carry them with me always.

The memories I have of Barry aka the OG . Our mom would take us from Brooklyn to the Bronx over on grand concourse to spend time with Barry and Lena. Then I 
finally flew  out to Atlanta to see the house they bought . Grandpa loved it but hated not being in New York . He wanted to be close to his friends &his family . He also had a story every time I was there and that’s what I miss the most the stories ! Lena made sure he got the stories correct and he would get him upset a bit “she don’t know what she talking about “ then go right back to the story. He also never admitted I was his favorite grandchild but I knew I was lol .i would ask “grandpa who is your favorite grandchild?” He would always say “I LOVE YOU ALL THE SAME”  I love all my kids and grandchildren the same . The hugs he gave the smile he had when I randomly pop up at the house ,definitely gonna miss the phones calls mom made sure we called to check in and the way he would answer “yehello” lol .

The best memory after hearing he had dementia and might remember me was visiting him in the hospital and I turned the corner because he sitting outside the room and  was telling stories to a nurse . He saw me and the biggest smile ever I said “hey grandpa Wah gwan “ nothing much I just wanna go home! He told me some stories about his siblings his kids how loved all of them. He also told me he wants to go home he doesn’t want his last days to be in the hospital.
