Retired Brigadier General Benjamin H. Bruce, 91, of Atlanta, formerly of Marietta, died Friday, June 03, 2016. Funeral is Sunday, 4pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park.
General Bruce had a distinguished military career with the Army/Air Force and retired after 36 years and 40 years with the Civil Service career. An avid golfer, Mr. Bruce was a member of the Dogwood Golf Club.
Survivors include sons – Daniel Harrison and wife Linda Bruce of Chatsworth, Thomas Philip and wife Myra Bruce of Douglasville, Mark Terrell and wife Melba Bruce of Ballground, and Kenneth Lee Bruce of Texas; daughter – Donna Alice Stearman of California; brothers – Melvin Terrell Bruce of Winter Haven, FL, and George WM Bruce of Spartanburg, SC; sisters – Tallulah Sisk of Midland, NC, and Laverne Burger of Maryville, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren – Jennifer Bruce, Kevin Bruce, Collin Isaiah Bruce, and step grandchild – Deani Blalock.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-8pm and Sunday 1-4pm at the funeral home.
