Betty Joyce Walters, 93, entered her eternal rest on November 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 6, 1932 in Geneva, Alabama. Joyce lived a long, full, and beautiful life marked by devotion, service, and unwavering love. She had two brothers— Charles Powell (deceased) and Michael Powell.
Joyce was the proud mother of three children — Larry Walters, Bill Walters, and Pam Barfield. She poured her heart into her family and found her greatest joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She cherished her six grandchildren — Brett Barfield, Brandon Barfield, Brooke Barfield, Blake Barfield, Bailey Barfield, and Sarah Walters — each of whom knew her as their constant supporter, prayer warrior, and biggest fan. Joyce was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored beyond measure. Her family was truly her life’s work, and she never missed an opportunity to show her love through her time, her words, and her presence.
A woman of deep faith, Joyce loved God wholeheartedly and lived in a way that reflected her relationship with Him. Those who knew her take comfort in believing she is now at peace in Heaven, reunited with loved ones who went before her.
Joyce also enjoyed staying engaged with the world around her. A passionate supporter of the Republican Party, she followed politics closely and loved sharing her thoughts with family and friends.
Known for her strength, kindness, and generous spirit, Joyce touched the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy will live on in the countless memories she created and the love she gave so freely.
She was, simply, a great woman.
The family invites loved ones to join them in celebrating Joyce’s remarkable life at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw on Wednesday Nov 19th. Visitation will begin @ 1:00 pm followed by funeral service and burial in mausoleum @ 2:00 pm.
