

Billy Joe “Bill” Cook, age 83, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on June 3, 1937 to Ralph Cook and Clara Turner Cook. As one of seven children, he grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia and graduated from McEachern High School in 1955. He worked as a Supervisor of Postal Operations for the United States Postal Service for 37 years.
Bill retired in 1992 and was able to pursue several hobbies. He was an avid reader. He loved to garden, watch the Atlanta Braves play baseball and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was kind and understanding and was the type of father all men aspire to be. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Barnes Cook; two children, William Todd Cook and his wife Michelle Cook; Carla Cook Page and her husband, David Page; five grandchildren, Rachel Cook, Ethan Cook, Jenna Page, Jared Page and Emily Page; one brother, Walter Cook; many nieces and nephews, and a number of other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Kennesaw, GA. Burial will follow the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park. Reverend Tim Chupp will officiate the funeral services and the following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Kevin Bailey, Chris Chupp, Kenneth Cook, Gary Hutson, Duran Morrison and Harold Owenby.
