Bobby Gene Chance, 89, of Kennesaw, GA died peacefully at Gaines Park Assisted Living on January 27, 2024. He was born in Kennesaw in 1934 to Edgar & Estelle Chance. Bobby attended Cobb County schools before joining the Cobb County Fire Department in 1963. In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed building t-bucket hot rods, attending antique car shows, and eating at Brandi’s Hot Dogs with his buddies in Marietta, GA. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter and great grandson.
Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Atkins, his parents, Edgar & Estelle Henson Chance, Roy & Ruby Freeman, Dan & Louise Myers, James & Frances Owenby, J.C. Cantrell and Ben Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Tootsie, son-in-law Benny Atkins, granddaughter Abbey (Jackson) Beckham, great grandson John Bentley Beckham, sisters-in-law Grace Cantrell, Linda Bryant and Sue Donahoo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31st from 10-11am at Winkenhofer Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 11am. The burial will follow at Greers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greers Chapel Cemetery Fund. Checks can be made out to Greers Chapel Baptist Church, in memory of Bobby Chance.
