

Mrs. McPherson was born November 3, 1932 in Kennesaw, GA. the daughter of the late Chappel Merrill and Etta Adair Adams. She graduated from Acworth High School in the Class of 1949. Bonnie worked for WBIE AND WFOM in the 1950s and along with being a devoted wife and mother, she also worked with the Cobb County Board of Education after her children were grown. She retired from the school system after 13 years in 1994. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God in Marietta and the Bethel Assembly of God in Acworth and in later years, she attended the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Acworth. Bonnie was longtime known for being a poet, song writer, artist and gardener. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and was a prayer partner for anyone who had a need at anytime. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bill McPherson on January 19, 2007.
Survivors include her children, Jerri (Gary) Jordan of Kingston, GA, David (Sylvia) McPherson of Rome, GA, Jane ( Jerry) Bragg of Acworth. One brother, James Hugh (Loretta) Adams of Kennesaw, Ga. Her grandchildren, Cameron (Carla) Jordan, Preston (Amanda) Jordan, Marissa (Byron) Young, Jody Bragg, Jeremy Bragg, Julie Bragg and six great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. McPherson will be conducted on Sunday July 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the Pine Ridge Chapel of the Winkenhofer Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot of the Kennesaw City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include; nephew, Jamie (Nicole) Giroir, nephew, Scott (Kathy) Webb, great-nephew, Jordan (Brittney) Ryle, family friend, Dylan Chavez, great-nephew, J.D. Trotter and nephew, Eddie (Kim) Conine.
The family would like to say special “Thank You” to all of Bonnie’s wonderful caregivers. Her great niece Kimmy Giroir, granddaughter Julie Bragg, Great niece Katy Beth Trotter and family friend Tammy Freeman. And a special heart felt “Thank You” to Stacey Doorner and all of the Tapestry Hospice Staff for their support and kindness.
