Brenda Toole Shirley

Brenda graduated Brown High School in Atlanta in 1958 and retired from B&S Printing in 2018, a business she owned with her husband Phil. Brenda loved the beach and boats, especially Tybee Island. She also loved plants, country music and snow! If there was snow within a 100 mile radius she was ready to take off and explore!

Brenda was a devoted mother and loved her family dearly. She loved to watch Robb play soccer and has always been his biggest fan. Brenda really shined as a Grandmomma, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart.

Brenda moved to Jasper in 2021 to enjoy the mountains in her retirement. As her health failed, her close friend Valeria Watson cared for her and loved her like she was family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father Ralph Nelms Sr., mother and stepfather Leta and Harry Timmerman, son Michael Rogers Toole and brother Ralph Nelms. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Phil Shirley, brothers Steve Timmerman, Barry Timmerman and Mike Timmerman, sister Alice Settles, son Robert Toole (Lori) of Dallas Ga, stepdaughters Kim Morrison (Jeff) of Stony Point North Carolina and Denise Elliott (John) of Oxford Ga, granddaughters Katherine Rogers (Charlie), Brittany Autry, Lindsey Peterson, Chris Peterson, Katheryn Elliott, Alannah Elliott, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The visitation for Brenda Toole-Shirley will take place at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on Friday, November 24 from 9 – 11am with service following at 11am. Burial is at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta.
