Mercer “Buddy” Crowe, Jr. 79, of Acworth, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 24, 11am at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Acworth with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
Affectionately known as “Coach Buddy” to numerous kids in Acworth for over 30 years, he loved to help these young men have fun and without them knowing it, Buddy was molding them to become good citizens. He was a carpenter by trade so building things was natural to him and while coaching youth baseball he continued his building. After many years of continued dedication to young people, the Acworth Baseball Association recognized Buddy, along with the city of Acworth, by having the field where he coached so many games named after him.
Three Sisters – Virginia Adams of Acworth, Callie C. Jones of Acworth, and Clara Shumake of Gainesville, survive buddy. There are nieces and nephews who also survive.
The Family will be receiving Friends on Friday, November 23, between the hours of 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 9pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw.
